Acceptable Use Policy
This policy explains acceptable platform use, prohibited conduct, payment handling boundaries, enforcement, and reporting for Crewfinder.
1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy governs how users may access and use Crewfinder, a professional hiring and discovery platform for freelancers, companies, venues, and service providers in the production, events, film, and media industry.
By using Crewfinder, you agree to comply with this policy.
2. Core principle
Crewfinder exists to support real-world hiring workflows. Any use of the platform that misleads users, enables fraud, disrupts hiring workflows, or violates applicable laws is strictly prohibited.
3. Prohibited activities
- Do not engage in or promote illegal activities, violate applicable laws or regulations, or facilitate unlicensed or prohibited services.
- Do not provide false or misleading identity or business information, impersonate another individual or company, misrepresent qualifications, experience, or services, or create duplicate or deceptive accounts.
- Do not use the platform for scams, phishing, fraudulent schemes, payment or billing manipulation, or refund, chargeback, or subscription abuse.
- Do not spam users, send unsolicited communications, scrape or harvest data without permission, interfere with platform functionality or security, or attempt unauthorized access to systems or accounts.
- Do not harass, threaten, intimidate, abuse, discriminate against, offend, engage in hate speech, or incite harm against other users.
- Do not upload or distribute pornographic or explicit material, content unrelated to professional hiring or services, misleading job listings, or fake opportunities.
- Do not post fake jobs or opportunities, invite users under false pretenses, or use Crewfinder for non-genuine hiring activity.
4. Platform-specific rules
Crewfinder does not act as a payment intermediary, escrow service, or payout platform. Users must not attempt to use Crewfinder to process or route payments between users or represent Crewfinder as a payment handler. All payments processed via Crewfinder are for platform services only.
- Users are responsible for maintaining accurate profile information, securing their login credentials, and all activity performed under their account.
- Companies, venues, and service providers must represent their business truthfully, only offer legitimate services, and comply with applicable industry regulations.
5. Enforcement
- Crewfinder may review accounts and activity at any time.
- Crewfinder may remove or restrict content, suspend or terminate accounts, block access to the platform, or report unlawful activity to authorities.
- These actions may be taken without prior notice where necessary.
6. Reporting violations
Users may report violations by contacting support@crewfinder.co.za or by using in-platform reporting tools where available.
7. Updates to this policy
Crewfinder may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Users will be notified of material changes where required. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
8. Relationship to other documents
This Acceptable Use Policy should be read alongside the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Billing and Subscription Terms. If there is any conflict, the stricter rule will apply.
